Frequently Asked Questions

While my handmade pottery is vitrified which makes it strong and watertight; they are still fragile.  Each item is a work of art, so please care for them as such.

Product Questions:

 - Are your products food safe?

Yes, my tableware (cups, bowls, plates, and serving dishes) are food safe

- Are your products dishwasher and microwave safe?

Please see the individual product details to see if the work is dishwasher and or microwave safe.   If the product is dishwasher and or microwave safe, it will be stated in the details.

My tableware (cups, bowls, plates and serving dishes) are dishwasher and microwave safe.  Pottery can typically withstand the dishwasher and microwave, but remember that it is also a piece of art. These appliances can take a toll on the pottery with changes in temperature or harsh detergents, so it is recommended that you hand wash and avoid the microwave to preserve them for as long as possible. With that being said, I always place my own functional pottery in the dishwasher, as well as, in the microwave.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please use caution when removing pottery from the microwave, as they may be hotter than expected. Also, please exercise caution when filling a cup or bowl with hot liquid, as they may be hot to the touch

-Why do some of your photos of the same product appear slightly different?

All of the products are handmade and will have subtle differences.  Unfortunately, I am not a photographer, but I try to do my very best to photograph my work as accurately as possible. Occasionally there may be slight differences in the images due to lighting.

-Do you do custom or personalized orders?

Definitely! Please email [email protected] to start the process for custom or personalized orders.

Shipping, Returns, and Cancellations:

- What is your shipping policy?

I only ship within the continental US.

I will do my very best to ship your order within 5 business days. Made to order items can take up to 2-8 weeks .

Because ceramics are fragile, they require extra care and protective packaging for shipping.  This may increase shipping costs. I always do my best to pack each piece securely while keeping costs as reasonable as possible. If you purchase multiple items and I can safely ship them together, I’ll happily refund the excess shipping charges.

I try to be as green as possible by using recycled materials.

- What is your return/exchange policy?

With the exception of shipping breakage, I do not accept returns or exchanges. Please check all listing photos and read through the description thoroughly before purchasing.  Since each item is handmade, no two will be identical, so please account for slight variation in shape, size and glaze, even if you purchase multiples of the same item.

*Refunds will not be given for lost or stolen packages. Customer must file a claim with the shipping provider

- What do I do if my purchased item arrives to me damaged?

My work is always carefully packaged so your purchase arrives to you safely.  Things do happen and if your item is damaged during shipping, the buyer must contact me at: [email protected] within 3 days of receiving the shipment.  To receive a possible refund or a replacement, please email me several photos of the shipping container and the damaged item. Because my work is handmade, I can’t guarantee a replacement for some of the items, in which case, a refund will be issued.  For items that can be replaced, there may be slight differences because they are all one of a kind.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Based off the photos, if the item appears damaged due to mishandling by the buyer, Lawson Pottery reserves the right to deny a refund, and you will be notified.

- What is your cancellation policy?

I'm not accepting cancellations at this time, so please make sure you are happy with the listing before placing your order.  Please contact me if you have any issues with your order.

*** Lawson Pottery reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.  Sales made prior to any new changes will not be affected.
